Not that big, but bigger than a lot of other things.

Yes and free speech is something we tolerate in this country.

“BTW, Bush had the IRS investigate the NAACP for being anti-war. Where was your outrage then?”
I disagreed with what happened there too. Not only because I disagreed with the war as well, but also because I realized, just as I realize now, that no matter what party is in control, there is something distinctly unamerican when it comes to using the bullying force of government to obstruct political opponents.

I try to get all points from all views, but your points make no sense at all. I love your passion, but I also think it is blinding you from how things really are. I feel bad for you.

Believe that Jesus Christ is your savior and you will go to Heaven forever and that is the whole truth. Spread the truth.

jacob54311 says:

Why did it take the Democrats so long to respond with this?

brandnutopian says:

She did not get a single bonus of $102K, that’s the total of the bonuses she received over 5 years time. Get your facts straight.

Goyotero1000 says:

If you don’t think there are problems then look up Greg Roseman pleading the 5th after he awarded 500 million dollar contract to his disabled vet friend. It was awarded to a minority vet, who’s service consisted of ‘military prep school’ and his ‘disabilty’ was hurting his foot at said school while playing football, although he only became disabled shortly before he needed it to ‘win’ the contract as a minority disabled vet. Doesn’t get any better than this.

dEdGrimley says:

To be fair, every conservative in the country is burying their head in the sand and refusing to admit this isn’t a scandal.

Liberty Doctrine says:

there was 292 tea party groups targeted vs. 6 progressive groups. according to the socialist democrats that is fair.

Babs44sun says:

…but…the amount of employee’s would mean that….never mind, you wont listen anyway.

tim halford says:

The new tax code could be less than 1 page. It would say:

It is hereby decreed that a national sales tax is in place from this day forward, and will serve as the new federal income tax.

Clause 1. All goods and services shall be taxed at 10%

Clause 2. There shall be no exceptions to clause 1

Clause 3. No deductions, exemptions or loopholes of any kind will be allowed

Clause 4. Sales tax can be collected quarterly, or yearly with a fee.

That’s it! How simple is that?

tim halford says:

No, a national sales tax, no exemptions, and have that put in law.

A flat tax or sales tax is better than what we have though

Alex Kigerl says:

There already are exemptions for some people under sales tax. Certain businesses, manufacturers, students, etc.

Sounds like you want a flat tax

tim halford says:

it cant be a real change…it’s just window dressing. A sales tax cant have exemptions…everybody buys stuff. and of the stuff is taxed at 10%, then EVERYONE pays the 10%. No way to give loopholes, favors, deductions, none of that.

Your way would just keep a broken system in place.

Alex Kigerl says:

I never said not to change the system. I said not to change it to sales tax

tim halford says:

Yeah I know I got you there. Liberals like the fucked up tax code that never collects enough, gives special treats and exemptions to friends of politicians, unfairly taxes higher earners at higher rates and has congress arguing half the time who should pay what.

One way to make sure that the system stays broken, is not to change it.

Alex Kigerl says:

Income that is saved or invested, that itself accrues additional income from capital gains or interest, is not subject to sales tax…

And you’re right. I actually want a broken system. You got me there… /s

tim halford says:

They spend more of their income on stuff that is sales taxed compared to rich people? HUH? -_o

Everything has sales tax, so WTF are you talking about?

Of course you advise against something that fixes all of the tax issues. You like the same, 4,000 page broken system that doesn’t work, to keep going. GENIUS!

Alex Kigerl says:

When it comes to sales taxes at the state level, poorer tax payers tend to pay a higher effective tax rate than wealthier tax payers. The reason is that poorer and middle class citizens spend more of their income on sources that are subject to sales tax, whereas wealthier individuals do not (they save more or it goes to capital gains/investments, etc.). The result is a regressive tax system. I would advise against sales tax.

terry rice says:

then certain groups would be sales tax exempt same problem

terry rice says:

Not all employee got bonuses, 1 employee Lois Lerner got a bonus 0f $102K . Now that is big money

Verdoux007 says:

The IRS “scandal” doesn’t have anything to do with the NSA PRISM scandal, so your rant doesn’t make any sense.

ricon2020 says:

Yeah, actually!!! Republicans and Democrats all have something to lose if the freedom movement wins. Don’t you just love Reps sayinng how good the NSA is, oh, wait, so does Obama! The government doesn’t care about you!!! Wake the Fuck up!!!!

It gets bipartisan support. And its probably mostly the fact that most Jews are libs

Really? Wut? I thought supporting Israel was a conservative thing…

Mark Bradley says:

It was 292 conservative groups compared to 6 “progressive” groups…and those 6 progressive groups were probably anti-obama. You libs are just as bad as the FOX News crowd. You just repeat whatever your favorite talking head says.

brandnutopian says:

Conservatives should really stop trying to draw analogies, because I have yet to hear a conservative draw one that makes any sense.

The main reason to obtain 501(c)4 status is to be TAX EXEMPT. The groups that underwent the lengthiest scrutiny were Tea Party affiliated groups, and as a result of this scrutiny they picketed outside IRS offices with signs saying things like “Abolish the IRS”.

BTW, Bush had the IRS investigate the NAACP for being anti-war. Where was your outrage then?

iamavet says:

Ever notice how childish the Liberal political hacks and Congressmen are when it comes to the IRS scandals?
The Liberals and media are more interested in proving that the IRS targeted other groups, besides the Tea Party groups, while ignoring the abuse of IRS power, special deals made for friends, and inappropriate use of taxpayer money. From the coverups by IRS taking the Fifth and Liberals trying to protect the WH and Democrats, I have lost all faith in the Federal Govt. along with the IRS.

All I can say to you is this..that is all the evidence supports. That a man named Jesus was born in Bethlehem lived in Nazareth was a Carpenter, Scholar whatever you want to call him. He angered people in power namely the Elders and the Romans and was killed for his progressive views. The story has repeated itself over and over again. MLK is a perfect example of what I mean, Ghandi would be another. There is no proof of a deity, ressurection, or accension just a man, not a god or the son of one

ChristianMission says:

“writings by people inside the faith don’t count,” according to whom? Again, you atheists deny the very thing you claim to base your beliefs on, ie evidence, when it contradicts your biases.

ChristianMission says:

Atheists talk a lot about evidence but run away from it when it contradicts their biases. Even Dawkins had to admit Jesus existed when Lennox pounded him with the facts.

ChristianMission says:

In other words, you want Christians to agree with you, even though you lack what you claim Christians lack…evidence supporting your convictions.

Pat Doyle says:

I do have a lot of free time – I’m semi-retired. I do have fun, and I have made some difference. I have helped three people to escape the bonds of religion (that I know of). I do mostly go to religious themed videos because I think religion has been the bane of mankind for most of our existence. I am not usually quick to used pejoratives, and perhaps was a bit too quick with you. But when someone claims that the Constitution references god, then quotes the Declaration, that’s just annoying.

tim halford says:

Flat tax no good. The same problems will crop up…politicians will give exemptions to their friends, to churches, to certain “groups”. That cant happen with a national sales tax.

brandnutopian says:

For 90,000 employees, that averages to about $787 per employee.

Oh yeah, big money.
