Maybe I missed it, but for the payee, can I just leave it blank (so I don't have to enter in every restaurant, gas station, etc) and just allocate the expense under my account details' chart of account category (rather than creating generic "Gas" "food" payees)…?

Thank you for the video. I understand posting transactions for credit cards much better now. I have a couple of related questions to ask.

1. Before getting the business card we used our personal credit card for business transactions. When I am creating the account for our personal credit card, what would be the opening balance?

2. The personal and the business credit cards are both from the same provider. How can I differentiate them in quickbooks? I am thinking by card number. Is there a way to link the credit card to its number other than entering it in the description field? Please let me know.

Can you explain how do I attach a credit card payment to ALL the items purchased (to that payment)? Do you have a video showing that? I need to show what items were purchased from that one credit card payment. I hope that makes sense. Thank you.

This was very helpful, thank you. One question though, my situation is that I am wanting to record the INTEREST I am paying on my credit cards as a separate category listing. I will only be able to write off the Interest I am paying on my cards for my business taxes as I already wrote off the actual full purchases in their entirety on my taxes the previous year, which leaves only the INTEREST I am paying now as an option for a tax write offs this year.
   Is there a way to write a single EXPENSE ticket that splits the Interest being paid from the full amount? Would help a lot to be able to cue up just the interest paid over the year on credit cards. THANKS
