Heads up from: blog.bookmach.com (latest swag from the internets) Musicovery is a flash application that lets you select the mood and energy of the music you would like to hear, and takes you to the appropriate song. It then meanders progressively along the genre path so you can explore multiple artists who have a similar sound I stumbled this one from one of my newest additions in my Bloglines .. at 9:00am .. and it’s now 10:10am and I’m quite hooked on this site! Heck It’s Friday. A little Background History … I’ve been a MSN Messenger snob for years, since switching from ICQ. I used to really like ICQ too! You see, I was one of the first thousand ICQ’ers out there and had a 6 digit ICQ number, with the first three numbers were 100xxx. But, my great low ICQ number got compromised back in 2001 and I was in a great imaginery conflict in getting my account back, until I was finally successful. The only thing was, I had moved servers and couldn’t reply with the original hbs@gatewest.net email I had [More]

This is a followup to yesterday’s Coat Check Please! At Least That’s What My Wife Said To Me This Morning …. Okay .. So, I showed you the tools … now I will show you the results of what I did last night after dinner while I was watching T.V. (1) Survivor (2) My Name Is Earl / double header and (3) Stargate SG-1 Basically, everything for 2006 relating to my mail (except the actual cash receipts, debit receipts, and credit card receipts still to be sorted) .. is in the burgundy $6.57 CDN filing folder in alphabetical order. I have been posting around the week of the 10th of each month a “THANK-YOU” post, like this one, to all the advertisers from the previous month listed as at month end. That’s a permanent link in this blog, under the category heading which I call .. “Sponsor Appreciation”. I know it’s hard out there trying to figure out where to spend your advertising dollars .. and well .. THANKS for considering 1-8-0-0-H-A-R-T. You may now advertise on this site in the form of Text Link Ads. I should note that the link in the previous sentence is an affiliate [More]
Loose Receipts It’s that time of year again .. to be sure that I can organize all my receipts .. as I do every year! For 2006 … I finally sorted out the cash receipts into specific envelopes up to the end of September 2006 .. and, as you can tell – I’m not that current. This is how I do that in the LAZIEST way possible: I have this black bin on top of my fridge, and every day I put the cash receipts, debit receipts and credit card receipts loosely into the tub. I have two of the [More]
I have finally figured out why my RSS Feed has NOT been working since my upgrade from wordpress version 1.5.2 directly to wordpress 2.0.5 I was concerned of the problem being one created by me making such a vast jump in versions in wordpress that was the problem .. or the vast jump in the feedburner plugin or feedburner itself having problems. It turns out that my old version of plugins included Denis de Bernardy’s “Related” series of plugins that you see at the end of each post (Related Searches, Related Entries, and Related Tags) did not include the additional [More]
Another issue from my upgrade Sunday … When I was required to upgrade my plugins .. I was to also upgrade my ol_feedburner-plugin by Ordered List from my old version 1.0 to version 2.2 If you are familiar with this plugin, what used to happen before is that the plugin redirected all feed traffic to a uniquely identified feed URL … http://1800HART.com/blog/feedburner_193618/ .. Then, I would use this URL as the source feed for this blog in feedburner, so you would get my Feedburner RSS Feed .. http://feeds.feedburner.com/hbsmc/DoCL With the plugin, since version 2.1 .. It’s quite easy to create [More]

With this new version 2.0.5 of WordPress allows me to install Text-Link-Ad’s FEEDVERTISING plugin .. which means you can now have a text link appear at the end of my RSS Feed. There are 6 available slots, but I’m using some to promote my own network and directory listing .. so only a few are available. This might be an option for some advertisers, because I know that there are people out there strictly reading my blog via the RSS Feed in their feed reader, or bloglines, google reader, etc etc .. and never see my sidebar – especially so [More]
Update is now complete .. I have followed my previous instructions, converting from 1.5.2. directly to 2.0.4 .. and it worked converting it directly to the latest version 2.0.5. There was one casualty – that I overlooked. My DEMOCRACY plugin, which was for the poll question in the sidebar – got trashed. I believe it was because it was the old version 1.2 upgraded to the latest version 2.0.1 .. I’m not bitter though, although I wish I could have taken a snapshot picture of the results to date because .. it’s lost forever now. It was a question asking [More]
For all of you reading this in your RSS … For those of you who won’t be .. you’ll be seeing my HOMER Under Construction .gif at .. http://1800HART.com/blog/ until I’m finished. Thanks in advance for your Patience …
hehe .. I was going to put EVERYTHING in that loooooong title .. but even HART has his limits! I’ve decided that tomorrow I will be upgrading this blog from wordpress version 1.5.2. directly to the latest version 2.0.5 .. in one step. This entails me to make all the necessary backups (as I’ve documented both here and on HART-Empire Network blogs) of both my files and MySQL databases .. as well as upgrade all existing plugins that are installed and obtaining the latest versions of them .. and making sure they are even compatible! So – if you see [More]
That’s right .. I said “CONTACT FORM SPAM” … not “COMMENT SPAM” I have no idea why people would try to spam blogs through their contact form. Basically, if you have a wordpress blog .. you can get the WP – Contact Form Plugin and activate it. Rather than placing your email address anywhere on your blog (for spammers to pick up and spam you) .. there is a neat little form where people can contact you. The information is emailed directly to you by your wordpress blog, and you do not have to worry about giving your email away [More]
Kian Ann (from Singapore) has Blogtipped me yesterday December 1, 2006 .. on his blog .. Blogopreneur: blog entrepreneurship centre .. SOURCE: http://www.blogopreneur.com/2006/12/01/its-blog-tipping-day Number #1 // 1-800-HART! The three most wonderful things about Hart’s blog are that 1) Hart’s blog is right up with the news! I mean, I could see consistently like 2 or 3 posts a day… and we all know that posting frequently can be quite demanding at times but he’s done it! 2) I simply love it when I can easily find a picture of the author of a blog, whether it is in the front [More]
I am looking to divest my time before the upcoming 2007 Tax Season .. by trying to acquire bloggers for a certain portion of my sites within the HART-Empire Network.. starting with the Health Blogs .. The SPAM started November 29, 2006 at 1:38pm …. IMPORTANT CHANGES TO MY RSS FEED OPTION I Now Offer FULL FEED Here at 1-8-0-0-H-A-R-T Up until this morning, my RSS FEED was set to summary feed. I initially selected this option for two reasons that I still think are valid. (1) MAIN REASON: Because of the many postings here at 1-8-0-0-H-A-R-T of articles and Canada Revenue Agency updates on a frequent basis .. the summary feed has been set to display the first 200 characters .. with a notice that if you wanted to continue reading the article … you were to click on the article title, or permalink, [More]
